Spetchley Model Aero Club

The Club
This is the website for the Spetchley Model Aero Club, BMFA registered Club 0615, formerly based in Spetchley, Worcestershire.

We fly a variety of radio controlled models powered either by internal combustion engines, electric motors or motor-less gliders. We are a small club and membership numbers are restricted.

The flying site
We have the use of a football field in a village a few miles east of Worcester when matches aren't being played. The field is suitable for small to medium sized aircraft, both i.c. and electric powered. Flying is permitted during all social hours except occasionally on Sundays when the pitch may be used for football matches. The field is of course grass, and is maintained & mown regularly throughout the year by the owner.
The field gate is kept locked and members have the lock combination. Please contact the Club secretary if you have lost the number.
Availability
We have no flying time restrictions other than during matches, but please respect the local populace and avoid using noisier craft during early morning and evening.
Naturally I have no control over how the schedule is arranged!
Please finish flying at 1pm before an afternoon match and be prepared to move out of the way as teams start arriving and warming up.

The Pits
The pits area is on your right as you enter the field, behind the touch line, and the flying zone is the area directly ahead of the extended touch line.

You may park in the pits area during the summer, but please refrain from driving onto the marked pitch itself, and respect the ground conditions by leaving your car outside the field during winter & wet weather.

While we do have a pegboard for 35MHz users, we assume the vast majority of people nowadays will be using 2.4GHz radios and so a pegboard will be unnecessary.

Location
Please contact the club secretary about membership or to obtain details of the flying site and how to get there.
